Pletcher won the 2010 Kentucky Derby with Super Saver. In 2011 he led all trainers in monies won with such stable stars as Stay Thirsty and Awesome Maria. He trained Rags to Riches not only to win the Kentucky Oaks in 2007, but became the first filly to take the Belmont Stakes in 102 years. He won four straight Eclipse Awards as top trainer from 2004-2007 and again in 2010. Calvin Borel

Borel was born in a small town in South Louisiana and he knew from a very early age he wanted to become a jockey. Borel captured the hearts of millions of Americans when he won his first career Kentucky Derby in 2007 on Street Sense. He followed that up two years later with a rail skimming ride on longshot Mine That Bird to win the 2009 edition. In 2010, he scored his third Kentucky Derby victory in four years aboard Super Saver. In 2010, WinStar experienced its first victory in the Kentucky Derby with Super Saver. That same year Drosselmeyer, was the surprise winner of the Belmont Stakes and would go on to capture the Breeders Cup Classic in 2011. 2001 - Growth of the Kentucky Derby continued on all fronts as the 127th running attracted a crowd of 154,210, the second largest attendance in Derby history. Overall Derby Day wagering (all sources) rose to a record $107,598,904. For the first time in Derby pari-mutuel wagering history, all horses ran uncoupled with no entries or mutuel fields as betting interests.
